An introduction to DesignByJ

I have decided to make a blog specifically targeted to my passion.. jewellery design!

So i guess the best thing to start with is by writing out some information about me. My name is Jennifer, I was born on June 23rd 1984 in Ontario Canada.. the baby of the family, with 3 older brothers and 1 older sister.. let's just say I got the brunt of the 'abuse' from my older siblings (lol) but I also learned a great deal from them aswell.

Everyone's life has their up's and down's and mine was no different.. I wound up pregnant with my first son at 17 (had him at 18), some people may think that it's weird to open up about that on a public forum.. but I am not ashamed, or have I ever been ashamed of my beautiful boy (he really is a great kid!). Honestly if he didn't come into my life when he did.. I don't know where I would be today.

When Logan was 2 months old I met my amazingly fabulous, wonderful, adoring, loving (I could go on.. but I will spare you the mushy gushy stuff) husband Chris.. he is truly the love of my life and I couldn't ask for a better husband... he has always supported me in everything i've done.. be it finally getting my highschool diploma or starting up my jewellery fetish :P.. he truly is a blessing.

On November 24th 2005 we welcomed our second boy Liam into the family, he is just a little ball of sunshine and just lights up the room.. no matter how badly you're feeling.. it just all melts away when he's around.

We just recently purchased and moved into our very own home and are in love with it :).. A couple of months before we moved I had this sudden urge to get crafty... I picked up a Michaels flyer and saw that they had beading kits on sale (whoo!).. so I went along with my sister the very same day and purchased 2 kits.. including some cheap tools and tons of beads.. and from there the obsession began...

So far things have gone a little slow .. but I enjoy creating beautiful jewellery and love people's reactions to it. I can't wait to see where this venture goes.

My Children and my husband are really the driving force for me to succeed at this.. I want my boys to know that no matter what they do in life they can succeed.. and to follow your dreams no matter what it is.
